We have years of swimming teaching experience under the Swimming Development Programme of Kenya (SDPK).
We are anti-drowning advocates and firm believers in nurturing generations of lifelong swimmers who are compassionate intelligent, protective and skillful. Under the Swimming Development Programme of Kenya (SDPK). We believe that learning to swim helps cultivate a love and respect for water which is a necessity for everyone regardless of their background or ability. Teaching children to swim is really a mix of disciplines which include early childhood Education Development that helps shape a child's future learning capacity, behavior and physical and mental health.
Starting and managing Swimming Development Programme of Kenya(SDPK) and swimming coaching was a serendipitous calling. Our head coach holds an American Swimming Coachs Association - ASCA lEVEL 4 Swimming Coach certificate,FINA level 3 certificate, Y.M.C.A. level 3 certificate, Kenya Lifesaving Federation(KLF) level 1 swimming coach certificate, Assesor license and a Life Saving/First Aid certificate.
In developing programmes for SDPK, we are taking a step to share and educate others that swimming is first and foremost a lifeskill before sports. Our goal is to emphasize that swimming and water safety can be taught effectively through FUN and positive encouraging approaches where learners can learn at a pace that is suitable to them.
23% of child drowning happen during a family gathering

Learn to swim can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% for 1-4 years old
who take formal swim lessons.
Drowning is fast and silent.
It can happen in as little as 20-60 seconds.
Drowning does not always look like we would expect.

Are you considering swim lessons in the new year
Here are 3 considerations to help guide you
1. Attendance - This is how available you are
2. Method and Training - For infants and todlers, do you want strictly "survival swimming" or "water acclimation".
Ask about CPR, lifeguard, or any specialized aquatic skills training and how experienced the coach is.
What is the instructors teaching style? (Strict and rigid, easy going, firm and fun)
3. Cost - Cost depends on facility, location and program type.
Group lessons are less expensive but instructional time is also reduced.
Private lessons are a greater investment, but learning is optimized.
